In our urban environment insulation is applied more and more. Insulation against heat losses and noise pollution. Designers and builders can choose from many materials which can fulfil one or both functions.

In earlier days the choice was mainly determined by price and quality. Nowadays the demand for a healthy environment and living climate sets new criteria.
As you know, many insulation materials can be hazardous for human beings and environment.
For all designers and builders who are aware of these problems there is now the healthy alternative: Cocoplate

Cocoplate is made from the coir fibres of the coconut husk. These coir fibres are being curled and then interconnected by means of a needling process. After that rubber latex is sprayed on the fibres and then pressed into dense plates. By heating the rubber is vulcanised, and in that way all coir fibres are bonded by means of 'rubberstrings'. Cocoplate has therefore excellent shock- and soundabsorbing properties. Because coir fibres are hollow the heat insulation is very good as well.

Cocoplate is the environmental alternative to synthetic insulation materials.
The handling and presence of Cocoplate does not harm human beings and the environment in any way. The raw materials -coir fibres and rubber latex- are constantly being reproduced by nature and the ecological balance is not endangered. This makes Cocoplate excellently suitable for many insulation applications.

Applications

Cocoplate can be applied as a high-value sound and thermal insulation material in floors, walls, ceilings and roofs.

Floors

> As insulation plate under suspended concrete floors.
Reduces drastically contact sounds and gives good heat insulation.
> In fixing systems (as strips) for light suspended floors. Gives excellent sound insulation.

Walls

> As insulation plate for inner- and outerwalls. Good heat and sound insulation.
> In flexible fixing systems (as strips) for prefab wall systems. Good sound insulation and reduces drastically contact sounds.

Ceiling

> In fixing systems (as strips reinforced with tape) for suspended ceilings.
Good sound insulation.

Roofs

> In combined insulation systems for horizontal and sloping roofs
The sound absorbing characteristic is very favourable in combination with different materials (sandwich-construction), specially in middle frequency 125 Hz.
Also good thermal insulation.

Undercarpet

> Rubberised coir pressfloor as undercarpet for carpets and parquet flooring.
Levels the floor and absorbs contact sounds. Is delivered in sheets of various sizes. Weight 600 gr/m2-thickness 4 mm.

Other applications

.
Besides the standard Cocoplate, Enkev delivers the following insulation materials:

Thermal insulation

> Needled coir on hessian or PP backing. For simple thermal insulation purposes.
The material is flexible and easy to handle. Can be delivered in sheets of various sizes or rolls. Weight 1000,1500 en 2000 gr/m2 thickness 10 - 30 mm.

Loose curled coir fibres.

For simple thermal insulation purposes, specially to fill up holes and cavities. Delivered in 13 kg bags.
